Alam Kuh Climbing
Alam-Kuh (Mount Alam) is a mountain in the Alborz mountain range in the north of Iran, forming a peak of the Takht-e Suleyman Massif. It is located in the Kelardasht District of the Mazandaran Province of Iran. With an elevation of 4,848 meters, it is the second highest peak in Iran behind Mount Damavand.
Day 1. IKA - Tehran. Arrival in Tehran. Our professional English-speaking guide will meet you at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2. Tehran – Vandarbon. Drive to our starting point in Vandarbon village via Chaloos Road. Overnight at Vandarbon federation camp or 45 min drive to the New Vandarbon camp.
Day 3. Vandarbon - Tange Galoo – Hesar Chal. Over the mountain road we drive by jeep from Vandarbon to Tange Galoo. From here we start trekking (app 3.5 H) up until 3800 m through Hesar Chal Darre, the picturesque and narrow gorge. In a vast mountain meadow we set up our base camp surrounded by majestic mountains. Overnight tent.
Day 4. Acclimatization day. We start the ascent to smaller peaks close to Alamkuh (Lashgarak 4256 m or 4402 m Gardan Kuh), the climbers can decide on the spot, depending on their condition. From there we can enjoy a magnificent view of the Alam Kuh mountain range. Descent to base camp and overnight in tents. Alternatively, this day can be used as a day of rest.
Day 5. Alam Kuh ascent. Before sunrise, we start today our ascent of Alam Kuh 4850 m, the second highest mountain in Iran via southern slope. After about 5 hours we reach the highest peak. After extensive rest on the summit and photography we descend to Hesar Chal 3800m. And those who want a little more smooth, can alternatively select the Marjikesh climb 4580 meters. Overnight tent.
Day 6. From Hesar Chal we walk back down, from where our vehicles take us to Vanderbon. After rest we head to Kelardasht city in the Caspian Sea area, a beautiful city, sometime called “The Lost paradise”.
Day 7. Alternatively we can start the Caspian Sea program or drive back to Tehran.
