Gilan, Anzali Lagoon

 

Arrival in Tehran. We will book your hotel from one night before, as the arrival is going to be early in the morning. Meeting and assistance upon arrival as our representatives welcome you and escort you to your car, that will transfer you to the hotel. It's time to relax after the flight.

 

Day 1: Tehran.AM.After late breakfast we will head to the north of Iran, the Caspian region. En route we will visit Gilan Museum of Rural Heritage near the city of Rasht. It is a unique eco-museum that has been constructed in order to show the hidden corners of Gilaki people's culture and lifestyle to the tourists from all around the world.

After meeting hospitable Gilaki people, we will continue on to Sepidar Hotel apartment, Overnight. )

Day 2: Talesh-Anzali (77.5Km). AM: After Hearty breakfast, we will drive to Anzali port. We'll get on the boat to enjoy the beauties of Anzali Lagoon. It is home to both the Selke Wildlife Refuge and the Siahkesheem Marsh, it is famous as a  place for bird watching with some 78 species of birds living in the area. Overnight Sepidar Hotel apartment,

 

Day 3: Talesh - Rudkhan - Masuleh (117 Km). AM: After a hearty breakfast we will go to Rudkhan, a brick and stone medieval castle, built during the Seljuk Dynasty (224-661 AD) by followers of the Ismaili sect. It's set high up in the mountains amidst lush forests, almost unassailable. We'll enjoy a pleasant walk uphill that leads to the castle (1,5-2 H).

 

PM: We'll continue on to the village of Masulehfamous for its unique architecture and breathtaking mountain views. The houses have been built into the mountain and are interconnected. Courtyards and roofs both serve as pedestrian areas similar to streets. Masuleh does not allow any motor vehicles to enter, due to its unique layout. Overnight at rural house or hotel in Masouleh.

Day4: Masuleh-Ramsar (184 Km).AM: after breakfast drive toward Ramsar through Chaloos. En route visit Javaher Deh(30Km) a village in Sakht Sar Rural District, an important tourist attraction in the Central District of Ramsar County . Ramsar is a popular sea resort for Iranian tourists. The town also offers hot springs, the green forests of the Alborz Mountains. The summervacation palace of the last Shah of Iran is also located there. Overnight

Day 5: Ramsar-Miankaleh (310Km) - Sari (58.5Km). AM. Drive to Miankaleh Nature Reserve. The unique characteristics of the area led to its promotion to a wildlife refuge in 1975. Located 27 meters below sea level, this plain area has Mediterranean and temperate sub-humid climates. It is home to many unique Caspian bird and reptile species native to this region. It's also a very important internationally recognized refuge for migratory birds.

•Miankaleh consists of two unique ecosystems: Miankaleh-Gorgan Bay wetland and Miankaleh peninsula. The water of the wetland is brackish and is supplied by the Caspian Sea, the permanent river of Qarehsoo and a number of other seasonal rivers. The presence of coastal sandy lands, wetlands, ponds, forest lagoons and sand dunes adjacent to each other unique feature of the area.

•179 plant species and 204 migratory and native bird species have been identified in the region. The main plant species include pomegranate, medlar tree almond, hawthorn, Christ thorn, poplar, tamarisk, nettle tree, elm, horsetail, raspberry, persicaria, saltwort, sedge and reed. The most important animal species of the region are wolf, jackal, wild boar, wild cat, cape here, seal, garganey, flamingo, godwit, osprey, white-throated divar, red-crested pochard, pygmy cormorant, horned grebe, bean goose, white-fronted goose, sandpiper, squacco heron, pheasant, stone curlew, black partridge, and some fish species such as carp, roach, southern Caspian kutum, mullet, pike perch, goby, asp, eel, and Caspian vimba.  

PM. Drive toward Sari. O/N in Sari.

 

Day 6: Sari-Tehran (274 Km). Drive towards Tehran through Firouzkouh en route visit Kiasar and Savad Kooh Forests,  these vicinities are variable in respect to the landscape, due to the presence of a number of forest valleys, majestic hills, rural settlements (in the heights), ancient castles, rivers, springs, meadows and scattered wheat fields can all be accounted for as areas of interest. The dense forest of Haft Khal and its large spring glows like a jewel in the midst of these forests, and can be said to be one of the most attractive forests not only in this province but so in Iran, then visit Veresk Bridge which was constructed during the reign of Reza Shah, on the Veresk River in the vicinity of Savad Kooh. During World War II, it was reputedly known as the Pol-e-Piroozi, or the bridge of victory. The bridge is at an elevation of 110 m. and its arch measures 66 m. in length. The same is one of the master pieces of engineering to do with the railway track in northern Iran. Lunch on the way. PM. Arrival in Tehran. O/N

  

Day 7: Tehran.AM.Following a late breakfast, we will continue on to the guided tour, exploring the historical centre of Tehran. We will visit Golestan Palace, National Museum and Grand Bazaar. PM. Visit Carpet Museum in the beautiful Laleh Park. One of the oldest and most important carpets, available in this museum, is called 'Sangeshku' that carpet dates back to Safavid era. After that take a walk in the park and enjoy the local vibe. Transfer to the hotel.

 

Day 8. Tehran - IKA.
