Parishan Lake
Parishan Lake, also known as Lake Famour, is situated southeast of Kazeroun in the southern Province of Fars. Without a doubt, it is one of the most beautiful places to visit. The lake is calm and quiet throughout spring and summer, but in autumn the winds grow stronger and cause turbulence, hence its name, “Parishan”, in Persian means turbulent.
The lake, which is no more than 5 meters (16 feet) deep, is surrounded by the Zagros Range. The shallow waters of the lake explain the decline in its levels in summer. The Parishan Lake has a surface area of approximately 45 square kilometer (17 square miles) and is 12 kilometers (7.5 miles) southeast of Kazeroun. The lake's distance from surrounding mountains varies from 500 meters (1,650 feet) to 5 kilometers (3 miles). There are a number of small caves facing the lake on the summit of mount Famour.
You may either resort to camping or staying in Pol-Abgineh village west of the Lake.
